Our program empowers students with the skills and techniques to decarbonize our society and create a better, more sustainable world. Over the 10-week program, we will work on:

• Creating carbon-neutral construction materials

• Tracing non-point source pollutants in urban streams

• Engineering sensors for detecting water pollutants at low concentrations (ppb level)

• Developing plastic upcycling process and products – fuels & chemicals

• Creating chemical pathways for breaking down water pollutants – dyes & PFAS

Together, we’ll tackle the challenge of turning waste feedstocks—like plastics, biomass, and water pollutants (dyes and PFAS)—into sustainable materials for the construction and chemical industries. These sectors are among the biggest users of non-renewable resources and key players in climate change, but you can help change that.
