Emory University,
Chemistry

Evan Myers is from Eugene, Oregon and is completing his Chemistry B.S. as a Davis scholar at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. For the past year, he has been a member of the Liang laboratory studying the proteins of the RSV virus using cryo-electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography. Next year, Evan is joining the Ribeiro group and will begin computational quantum chemistry research. When not in the lab, Evan is most likely to be found rock climbing.

Noah Valverde

Noah Valverde is a rising junior in chemical engineering at the University of Kansas. Outside of his classes, he volunteers in a research lab where he works on a project focused on separating R-410a using zeolites. He is also a RA in the dorms and involved in extracurriculars as the president of KU’s AIChE chapter.

Kevin F. Chuchuca Crespo

Tufts University,
Civil Engineering

Kevin Chuchuca is a Civil Engineering student from the Class of 2025 studying at Tufts University. Raised by a proud Ecuadorian family, he grew up in Ossining, NY where he fostered his appreciation for engineering while working with his father in carpentry and construction. Through this lab, he hopes not only to gain vital skills and meaningful friendships but to contribute to a great cause in sustainability and the environment. Beyond his academics, Kevin finds joy in immersing himself in music and seeking out the most breathtaking sunset spots.

Corbin Larsen

Corbin Larsen just finished his sophomore year at Southern Utah University. He is studying Chemistry with a Laboratory Science emphasis. He grew up in Northern Utah in a town near the Idaho Border. When Corbin has some free time he likes reading books, working out, and watching TikTok. He hopes to go further in his college career and study chemistry in the body, perhaps the chemical responses of the immune system.

University of Massachusetts Amherst,
Chemical Engineering

My name is Amy, and I am a chemical engineering student entering my senior year of college at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am part of the Perry Research Group in the chemical engineering department, standardizing and optimizing the formation of multiphase complex coacervation. I have an exceptional interest in the research and development of environmentally friendly, renewable materials used to mitigate existing environmental damage. In the future, I would like to conduct my own research in a national materials lab or in the public resources sector. In my free time, I am an avid baker. My favorite thing to make are banana bread and strawberry devil’s food cake.

Maia Ringo is a rising sophomore at UofL, Civil Engineering. She knew she wanted to be an engineer, since she was seven years old. She settled on civil engineering after writing a research paper about the structure and fundamental principles of bridge design in eighth grade. Living in Louisville, Kentucky her whole life, she always knew she wanted to go to the UofL Speed School of Engineering and worked to make that possible. When she’s not doing homework, she enjoys creative writing, reading, making playlists, any outdoor activities like hiking, skateboarding, or just walking or driving through parks, and trying new things with friends.
